Ever notice how sometimes, despite all our best intentions and efforts, we seem to be our own biggest obstacle?

This question hits home for many of us, especially those of us running our coaching businesses.

In this post, I want to take a moment to reflect: Is your attitude getting in the way of your success?

As coaches, we are dedicated to guiding others towards their full potential. Therefore it’s important to turn the mirror towards ourselves and examine our own attitudes towards our desired outcomes and goals.

The Foundation of Manifestation

At the heart of achieving any goal lies the ability to envision a desired outcome. Most of us are good at setting intentions and creating visions of our future successes. We dutifully write down affirmation statements, like, “I am so happy and grateful that now I…”, hoping to will our ambitions into reality.

But the act of simply repeating these statements isn’t enough to bring about the change and outcome we are looking for.

The Essence of Attitude

Attitude is the bedrock upon which our efforts stand or fall. It encompasses our thoughts, feelings, and actions towards our goals. An effective attitude is not just about going through the motions or clenching our muscles in an attempt to force success. It’s about aligning our head, heart, and body entirely with our intentions.

It’s about taking action and doing the best we can every day towards our goal.

A Gardener’s Tale: The Importance of Daily Nurturing

I have a dear friend who decided to grow her own organic vegetables. She set her intention, educated herself on gardening, and understood that the foundation of her garden’s success would be healthy organic soil.

She knew that for her vegetables to grow strong and healthy, she needed to nurture them with the right amount of water and sunlight consistently.

Just like a diligent gardener, she had to water and care for her plants regularly. This wasn’t a task she could neglect or approach half-heartedly. The vegetables required daily attention to thrive. If she decided to skip watering for even a few days, her young sprouts would wither and die.

Why am I talking about gardening?! This story parallels our journey towards manifesting our desired outcomes.

Setting an intention is like planting the seed; nurturing that seed with consistent, purposeful action is what brings it to fruition. Your thoughts, feelings, and actions need daily attention and care, much like a garden. You cannot simply plant your goals and then divert your attention elsewhere, expecting success to bloom.

Purposeful Action: The Bridge Between Desire and Reality

Knowing what you want is the first step.

The next, and arguably more crucial step, is committing to purposeful action towards making it a reality. This means giving your desired outcomes your best attention every day. It involves taking strong, consistent actions aligned with your goals to the best of your ability.

But what does it mean to take “strong action”?

It means engaging with your goals with resilience, determination, and without excuses. It’s easy to let daily distractions or feelings of being “too busy” derail your efforts. However, success demands more than sporadic attempts or half-hearted measures.

Your attitude towards your coaching business and your desired outcomes must be strong and unwavering.

Connecting with Your Affirmations

Affirmations are powerful tools in manifesting your desires, but their magic lies in more than just repetition. The real power emerges when you deeply connect with the words, feeling into them, and allowing them to resonate within you.

This connection is what transforms an affirmation from a mere sentence into a compelling call to action for your subconscious.

The Cycle of Success: Think – Feel – Action – Results

The journey from thought to your desired outcome is a cyclical process. It begins with your thinking, influenced heavily by your attitude. This thinking then affects your feelings towards your goals, which in turn dictates the actions you take. Finally, these actions lead to the outcome you achieve.

This cycle, powered by the energy of your attitude, can either propel you toward success or become a barrier to it.

Are You Giving Your Best Every Day?

Reflect on your daily actions and attitude towards your coaching business.

Are you truly giving your best effort, consistently and purposefully, towards achieving your desired outcomes?

Or/

Are you allowing excuses, distractions, or a lack of conviction to weaken your resolve?

Remember, the difference between those who achieve their dreams and those who do not often comes down to attitude. A positive, committed attitude fuels the relentless pursuit of one’s goals, while a negative or indifferent one creates obstacles that are hard to overcome.

Living What You Coach

As coaches, our personal journey of maintaining a positive attitude serves as a guiding light for those we support. This path is about consistent reflection, adjustment, and heartfelt dedication to our goals.

Let’s commit to daily actions that align with our aspirations, understanding that our influence extends beyond achieving objectives to inspiring change in others. Our attitude doesn’t just facilitate our success; it defines the essence of our impact.

By embodying this principle, we pave the way for meaningful progress, both for ourselves and for those we inspire.

Attitude is everything!

I love the gardening story here because, in my experience, you have to give your desired outcome the right conditions to grow. So for a gardener, the right conditions are the soil, water, and light. For our clients (and ourselves) to grow, these are your thinking, feeling, and actions toward your desired outcome.

So for your client (or you) – nurturing your desired outcome is the action you are taking. This could be:
    *Taking purposeful consistent action
    *Giving it your best
*Your best thinking (positive-catching when you are in conditioned patterning)
*Your best feelings (enjoying the process, having fun, joy, being curious)
*The experiences you are creating to move you toward your desired outcome
*What are you listening to (podcasts, uplifting meditations etc – things to feed your soul and motivation)

If you take every step your thinking-feeling-action is strong and you bring yourself to the best of your ability, your desired outcome will become real.

What is your attitude towards your desired outcome?
