How to Reveal the Next Positive Version of Yourself coachbrilliant.com2020 has been significant for all of us. It has been a deeply revealing year for me. It’s called me to go look inwards and explore the layers of who I was and what I was tolerating to reveal the next version of myself.

The Pandemic has forced us to make decisions we would not have otherwise made, and called us to think, feel and act differently than before. We’ve come face to face with everything that we are tolerating.

In times like these it’s easy to want to cling onto what we had, what we’ve lost or what is no longer available to us. We can feel lost about what to do next.

It’s important to remember that significant change ALWAYS brings opportunity, if you are open to seeing it. There’s a huge shift as energy is realigning just now. It’s revealing a lot to us about ourselves and what we are tolerating and this may be a turning point in your life.

Drastic change brings new energy and an opportunity for reinvention and growth.

…If you are open to exploring it by awakening your inner courage to face challenging situations courageously.

The one positive thing that 2020 gave many of us was having more time on our hands. We were forced to slow down and stay home. Some of us experienced reduced workloads or lost our jobs. Having more time on our hands meant that we lost the excuses of being too busy and not having time to think about things and go within…

A New Year always brings with it a feeling of hope and the opportunity to show up differently. It’s a chance to make plans from a fresh new perspective. As 2021 is just beginning, this is the perfect time to move towards what you want rather than away from what you don’t want. The latter being fueled by your fear, doubt, worry and anxiety.

It’s a time for peeling back the layers of what was to reveal who you are becoming next on your journey. I have done this many times in my life. Last year was no exception. We are evolving and changing shape as we grow. You might call it reinvention…

NOW is a perfect time to ask yourself the following question:

Are you doing what you really want to be doing or would you wish to be doing something else?

Here’s how I begin to peel back those layers to reveal the next positive version of myself:

  1. Grab your journal (or a Legal Pad!) and explore the question I asked above.
  2. Write a list of your skills – what you’re good at – that you love doing. This is a clear list of your gifts (not your certifications 🙂 ). What do you love? For example: teaching, developing coaching relationships, influencing, consulting with clients, speaking, writing… be specific.
  3. What do your clients, friends, peers say that you are good at?
  4. What makes you feel alive? What fills you with joy and makes you excited.
  5. Tap into your natural strengths (I use Kolbe to help my clients uncover these in my coaching practice). Knowing this gives you a greater understanding of your own natural instincts. Here’s more information on Uncovering Your Natural Strengths if you are unsure of these.

These gifts give you clues to what you could be doing with your life. Tap into your natural strengths.

Once you’ve uncovered these I ask myself – what would be a good business for me to use these? This is how CoachBrilliant was born! I had an idea but the clarity to move forward came from taking the time to sit with, and then answer these questions.

When you do well it is because you’re tapping into your natural talents. Look for clues for what you love doing. The clues are there if you look for them. Maybe there’s just a hint of something – follow it and be curious.

It’s NEVER too late.

You don’t have to know the HOW. The HOW will be revealed to you as you get clearer. Just explore what makes you happy. What you love doing.

Even in today’s crazy world…YOU GET TO CHOOSE WHAT YOU WANT!

Change is in the air…

Are you ready to reveal the next positive version of yourself?
